About the Speakers
Syed Ghani, CBA, Credit Manager, Ascend Performance Materials, Houston, Texas
Syed Ghani worked as an accountant for 20 years before moving into
his current position as credit manager with Ascend Performance
materials, a global supplier of chemicals, nylon and plastics for the
automotive, chemicals, electrical, carpet and industrial fibers markets,
With more than 40 years of experience as a project accountant and
credit manager, Syed has worked in domestic and international
construction, oil and gas, energy, chemicals, and plastics industries.
In addition, Syed spent 12 years overseas with expatriates and foreign
nationals on a $2 billion university project. He has participated in
global SAP conversion and rollout projects.
Syed is a member of NACM Gulf States and a CBA (Credit Business
Associate) designee, and has completed CBF (Credit Business Fellow).
Virgile Rouyer, Commercial Manager, Ascend Performance Materials SPRL, Mont-Saint-Guibert, Belgium
Virgile Rouyer serves different industries and end-markets such as chemicals intermediates, compounding as well as industrial fibers, textiles and carpets. He holds an engineering degree in materials science, a Ph.D. in polymer physics and a post-graduate degree in strategic marketing. Before his current role at Ascend, he worked for seven years as key account manager and distribution manager.
Prior to joining Ascend, Virgile worked in research, product development and technical service for Solvay Polyolefins and BP Chemicals. He also worked in international sales as an export manager of LATAM and India for Ineos Olefins & Polymers.
