Natasha Buchanan is an experienced construction litigator that has
dedicated her practice to handling the broad needs of contractors
throughout the construction process. Natasha was named to the 2021
Southern California Rising Stars List as a top construction attorney by
Super Lawyers.
Natasha represents a variety of general contractors, subcontractors
and sureties in public and private works construction, contractual
disputes, prevailing wage and employment law. For her contactor clients,
she represent contractors from contract drafting, public agency bid
disputes, the inception of a project to the resolution of claims in
litigation, including prosecuting and defending construction contract
claims. Natasha also represents sureties in the investigation and
evaluation of performance and payment bond claims, project takeover and
completion efforts and indemnity disputes.
Natasha also handles employment claims including prevailing wage
claims, apprenticeship issues, labor claims and wage and hour
litigation. She has successfully represented employers against labor
claims in court and in administrative hearings related to prevailing
wage laws and Labor Code compliance issues with the Labor Commissioner,
Division of Labor Standards Enforcement, and Labor Compliance Programs.
Natasha has considerable trial and arbitration experience including
jury and bench trials. Natasha has built a reputation for fierce
advocacy by vigorously representing her clients, providing them with
straightforward legal advice which leads to favorable results for them.
Prior to joining Lanak & Hanna, Natasha worked as a litigation
associate for a regional law firm representing individuals and small
businesses in the areas of business, commercial and real estate law.
Natasha continues to serve her alma mater as a member to the Chapman
University Fowler School of Law’s Alumni Advisory Board. The board
assists the law school in the planning of networking opportunities for
alumni and current students and provides valuable input regarding career
services, bar exam preparation, and MCLE opportunities. Natasha
previously served a term as Chair of the Board (2014-2015).
